The Grantham Foundation for the Protection of the Environment

The Grantham Foundation for the Protection of the Environment is a private foundation with the mission to help protect and improve the health of the global environment. The Foundation was founded in 1997 and is currently approaching $10 million in annual grants and donations with prospects of fairly rapid increases. All giving is focused on environmental protection, with about one half devoted to climate change. The fund is invested across many asset classes under the guidance of Jeremy Grantham (Chairman of GMO, a financial management company). A strong initiative is currently being made on direct "green" (clean tech) private equity investments.
